Queensland Learner license

Today I have succesful received my Queensland Learner license. Jippie... riding down under starts here!

Yesterday a lucky day

One of those days where everything seems to fall into place. We woke up on thursday and Sophie received a call. You've got the job... and you can start the 17th of July (just a we hoped).

The car's stereo needed to be put in for the big journey before we leave next tuesday and it is ready.

My Canon EOS D20 was full of beer (crazy Dutch Queensday Party) and needed to be fixed before our journey. And it is just on time and we can pick it up this afternoon.

Our bankaccount together was fixed and is ready to be used today.

The company Sophie is going to work for is providing us with a house for two months... so this gives us the opportunity to find a house ourselves without any stress.

AND we now can drive up north and work on the farm... and meet Michael and Michelle.

Wow what a day to remember!

Leaving Melbourne

Hi everyone,

On the 13th of June we will leave Melbourne by car to begin our BIG journey towards Cairns (Australia). The last weeks has been fantastic in Melbourne staying with the Morris family. Sophie her family is such a lovely bunch of people and it was amazing to stay with them for a couple of weeks.

So on the 13th we will start driving up North... to go up North to Cairns we have bought a car ... a real old skool car from 84... the eighties still rock ON! It will be a journey of 3000 km and we hope this oldie will take us there. Underway we will stop in many places to chill out and enjoy friends of Sophie. Because of my non-driving Sophie will be driving all the way... and I will be the dj and massage therapist for a while.

Places we will visit are: Hay, Moree, Byron, Sunny Coast, Arlie Beach, Townsville, Cairns... and offcourse a lot of little places that can only be found by Google earth

Melbourne

Hi everyone,

Arrived on the 21st of May 2006. After a week of saying goodbye to friends and family in Holland Sophie and I flew off for our Australia adventure. From the 22nd till the 13th of June we are priveledged to stay at Sophie's parents house in Melbourne.

Our days are filled with meeting friends of Sophie and working for Art Profound (www.artprofound.nl). After a week of feeling a little Jetlag situation we are feeling more and more home overhere. It is good to have this relaxed time with the lovely Morris family.

We took step 1 into Australia with a medical check... big time research of my body. Felt good eventhough I was a little bit nervous and my heartrate was a bit too high. 140 over 80!? Should be 120 over 80... anyway it was a good research and it felt great! Hopefully my blood was good enough to come into Australia.

Cozz... I am planning to become a Dutch Cowboy in Australia.
